Problem

It can be difficult to search and browse groceries quickly and effectively, creating a frustrating User Experience.

Poor user control in navigation elements.

Horizontal scrolling in these menus does not align with best UX practices and standards/existing mental models, as well as the fact that entire sections of info and options could be missed by the user.

Inconsistencies in visual hierarchy.

Various areas of the app can be improved visually by enforcing a consistent line heights and alignment.

Solution

Neilsen's Usability Heuristics in mind, we set out to redesign the Search and Checkout flows the FreshDirect mobile app for a user-friendly and intuitive experience.

All-new search results page.

Easily view all tags to refine your search. Updated product information is easier to read and more useful.

Redesigned checkout flow is now easier and quicker.

A new progress bar helps easily navigate the checkout flow, and now it's easier than ever to switch between Deliver and Pickup options.
